Seller
The seller is Steve Foster, a sole trader trading as Steve Foster Art. Enquiries should be sent to steve@stevefosterart.co.uk. A geographical correspondence address will be supplied directly before any contract is concluded.
Website enquiries
The website provides information and an invitation to enquire. Sending an enquiry does not reserve a painting or create a contract. A purchase becomes binding only when the artwork, total price, payment arrangements and delivery terms have been confirmed in writing and Steve has accepted the order.
Artwork information and availability
Each painting is an original work. Reasonable care is taken to describe dimensions, medium, condition and availability accurately. Screen settings and photography can affect the appearance of colour. Additional images and condition information are available before purchase. Availability is subject to final confirmation.
Prices and payment
Prices are stated in pounds sterling. Steve Foster Art is not registered for VAT, so VAT is not added. Delivery, insurance, customs charges and import taxes are not included unless expressly stated. The delivery cost and accepted payment method will be confirmed in writing before purchase.
Delivery and risk
Delivery or collection arrangements, cost and anticipated timing will be agreed before purchase. Steve remains responsible for the artwork until it is delivered into the buyer’s physical possession, unless the buyer independently appoints a carrier not offered by Steve. Any apparent transit damage should be photographed and reported promptly.
Cancellation of a distance purchase
Where UK consumer cancellation rights apply, a buyer may normally cancel within 14 days beginning the day after receiving the artwork, without giving a reason. Cancellation must be communicated clearly by emailing steve@stevefosterart.co.uk. The buyer then has 14 days to return the artwork. Unless agreed otherwise, the buyer is responsible for the direct cost of return; because paintings may not be returnable by ordinary post, an estimate of that cost will be supplied before the purchase is concluded. The artwork must be protected and returned with reasonable care.
Refunds and consumer rights
Any refund due following a valid cancellation will be made within the period required by law, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. A deduction may be made for loss in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the artwork. Nothing in these terms limits rights relating to goods that are faulty, damaged or not as described.
Copyright
Purchasing a painting transfers ownership of the physical artwork only. Copyright and reproduction rights remain with Steve Foster unless expressly assigned in writing. Buyers should request permission before reproducing an image for commercial or promotional use.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections that apply where they live.
